Phases

Phases is an idea... one that celebrates the passing of the Moon Phases, the passage of time and the rites in our lives, and the many traditions and philosophies that are represented in our cultures.  We are focused on the spiritual connection to the Earth and Her energies.   While we do not espouse any specific denomination or spiritual tradition, we welcome them all, for all lead to the paths we must individually travel.

So, in our way, we want to offer a space for these spiritual explorations.  Every full moon, weather permitting, we will hold a gathering.  We open the evening to many possibilities... dancing, drumming, singing, the teaching and learning of traditions and crafts, readings, performances, the communion with friends, new and old, and the enjoyment of the spectacular top of the hill in McLaren Park.

This is to be an adult and child friendly event with no alcohol or drugs.  And while we love them, pets should be left home for the comfort and safety of all.

We welcome volunteers and participation.  Please feel free to email with suggestions and ideas.   But most of all, please come and participate.

OPERATIONS

FREE full moon gatherings in San Francisco.

Phases is about celebrating the full moon. We meet the day of the full moon as shown on the calendar. The event consists of one hour meditation from 8:00 to 9:00 PM, followed by drumming from 9:00 PM to ?

We are going to celebrate the moon in as many different cultural ways as possible. The full moon is one of the few events every living species on earth experiences at once.

This event occurs once a month, weather permitting.

We meet at the top of the hill at Visitation Avenue and Mansell Street in John McLaren Park in San Francisco, California. Take the 29 Sunset bus (MUNI). See Directions for a map of the exact spot we meet. There is plenty of free parking.

While we love them, please don’t bring your pets.

We recommend that you dress in layers.

10:00 PM adults only. If you are under 18, it’s time to go home and go to bed, and take your parents.

No public restrooms are available.

Handicapped accessible.

Tea and cookies with donation; we hope to make at least $100 in donations at each event to break even and pay for the website and maintenance therein.

We need volunteers.

Thank you
